Yes! If someone tests positive for Chlamydia that person can come in and get the antibiotics to treat it. They can also pick up the antibiotic for their partners as well. When someone is being treated for Chlamydia, it is very important that they and their partners are treated and finish the medication. This will help ensure that reinfection doesn’t occur
It is also very important that the person/people being treated abstain from any sexual contact for 7 days. By not waiting 7 days and having sex with someone who may also have Chlamydia, being re-exposed to the STI is possible. Even if this person didn’t have Chlamydia at the time of intercourse , it is likely that they have since contracted it because treatment was still happening at the time of intercourse.
