Can you still get pregnant with the birth control in your arm?

Good question.

The Nexplanon is a single matchstick-sized rod that is placed underneath the skin in your upper arm. A nurse or doctor inserts the rod. Once inserted, the rod releases hormones gradually for up to three years.

After someone has the Nexplanon for 1 week, Nexplanon protects against pregnancy up to 99% for 3 years, even if ejaculation in the vagina occurs.

It does not protect against any STIs! Only Condoms and Dental Dams can reduce the risk of STIs
