………and I’ve been on since January and recently I’ve had sex and I felt weird, so I took a pregnancy test from the one dollar store that came back positive but was very very very faint what could that mean?
It takes the Nexplanon (and all hormonal forms of birth control) 1 week to become effective. It is recommended to use a backup method during this week (like condoms or abstinence). After someone has had the Nexplanon for 1 week, it protects against pregnancy up to 99% for 3 years, even if ejaculation in the vagina occurs.
If you took a pregnancy test at least 14 days after the most recent sexual contact ( before 14 days it will not be accurate) and you read the test within the time frame that is on the pregnancy test directions, you can trust the result. If you read the results before or after the time frame it would not be accurate.
If you need to make an appointment to take another pregnancy test or for anything else, you can give us a call at 303-442-5160.
