I got the shot of antibiotics for Chlamydia and had sex a couple of days after. Could it still have been contagious?

When someone is being treated for Chlamydia, it is very important that they and their partners are treated and finish the medication. This will help ensure that reinfection doesn’t occur.

It is also very important that the person/people being treated abstain from any sexual contact for 7 days. By not waiting 7 days and having sex with someone before the 7 day time period was over, it is very likely that Chlamydia was transmitted to your partner.

The best thing for you to do would be to speak with a medical professional. They may choose to re-treat you and also give you additional medication for any partners you may have. Give us a call if you would like to make an appointment or have any additional questions. 303-442-5160.
