I was recently diagnosed with Chlamydia…….

…….both my partner and I got the treatment. My partner & I took the medicine at the very same time; we had unprotected sex within 20 min of taking the antibiotics, would that affect us in any way?

When someone is being treated for Chlamydia, it is very important that they and their partners are treated and finish the medication. This will help ensure that reinfection doesn’t occur.

It is also very important that the person/people being treated abstain from any sexual contact for 7 days. By not waiting 7 days, you and your partner were most likely  re-exposed to the STI.

Many people who have bacterial STIs like Chlamydia will have no symptoms with the infection. So even if you don’t have any symptoms, Chlamydia may still be doing harm to your body.

The best thing for you to do would be to speak with a medical professional. They may choose to re-treat you and also give you additional medication for any partners you may have. Give us a call if you would like to make an appointment or have any additional questions. 303-442-5160.
